Pocket Rocket

 

This board was developed together between Dan and Sam Hammer. Sam goes out of his way to find grinding hollow waves and this is his board of choice in these conditions. The "Pocket Rocket" starts off with a flatter entry rocker in the nose and has slightly less tail rocker than a conventional short board. A subtle concave is under the chest moving down to a spiral vee through the fins. The wide point is moved up slightly and has a fairly flat deck line hiding it's volume. This combination gives it a great paddling capability and allows you to get into waves deeper and earlier. When paddling, it feels like a foot longer than it is, and yet is extremely responsive in steep hollow waves. Go with a five fin set-up for more versatility.
